About NYCASE and Special Education Law

NYCASE (New York Council of Administrators of Special Education) serves exceptional children and their parents. Special education services are intrinsically linked to the field of education law, as federal legislation such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act determine the services to which exceptional students are entitled.

Who Should Attend?

The NYCASE Summer Institute is an exceptional opportunity for lawyers in the Albany area to receive continuing education and for school districts to discuss special education best practices.

In addition to Karen’s opening presentation on special education law, the event also features keynotes from Dan Habib, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, and other stakeholders in special education.
